January 6th Select Committee news and Trump updates
The fourth hearing will be televised on June 21st at 12:45 (Tuesday). The focus will be on witness testimony illustrating how Trump unlawfully pressured state lawmakers and election officials to alter voter tallies to say he won the election. Trump asked Georgia to give him 11,780 more votes because that is what he would have needed to win the election there. The SEVENTH January 6th Committee televised hearing will be on Tuesday, July 12th. The Committee will show the world that the attack of the U.S. Capitol building was planned by the Trump White House. Trump’s connection with extremist groups will be covered. “Efforts to assemble that mob at the mall,” will be revealed according to Democratic Republican Adam Schiff of California.
06/28/22 update: The January 6th Committee presented the sixth televised hearing and it was as compelling as the other five:
Trump’s lawyer, Rudy Giuliani had a meeting with Trump on the 4th and immediately afterwards tells White House staffer Cassidy Hutchinson, January 6th “will be great.” Meadows says “things might get real, real bad.” Hutchinson, who had supported Trump and his agenda, was disgusted by what she learned and described Trump as “indecent, vile and uncivil.”
AR-15s and Glocks — semi-automatic rifles and pistols — were reported in the crowd at the Ellipse White House visitor’s center.
Trump said, “I don’t effing care that they have weapons… Let my people in…. Take the effing mags away,” [metal detectors] according to Hutchinson.
06/16/22 update: The January 6th Committee presented a third televised hearing: Vice President Pence was shown saying, “The president said I had the right to overturn the election. I did not have the right to overturn the election.” He goes on, “There is nothing more un-American… The vote belongs to the people… not one man,” [paraphrased].
Former President Donald Trump is widely believed to have committed “criminal conspiracy to defraud the United States” and corrupt obstruction of an official proceeding in an effort to overturn the 2020 election.
4/04/22: Federal prosecutors in the Justice Department have begun investigating the fake electors scheme and the planning for the January 6th attack of the Capitol. We know because they are collecting evidence. Beyond that, there is not much else known because the investigation is kept highly secret.

3/24/22: The January 6th Select Committee investigating the US Capitol riot will meet Monday to consider issuing a criminal referral of two former Trump advisers.
Dan Scavino and Trump’s onetime trade adviser Peter Navarro may be held in contempt for not cooperating with its investigation. The January 6th Select Committee headed by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi will send the reports to the US attorney for the District of Columbia to decide whether to prosecute.
3/24/22: Also in the news today is that Trump has sued Hillary Clinton for trying to “Destroy His Life” in an what they charge is an “unthinkable plot” to claim Trump was colluding with Russia in the 2016 election. Ironically, he was doing the unthinkable — colluding with Russia — and so this lawsuit is going to backfire on him as all his other lawsuits did. This one may land him in prison before it is done.
Almost every American saw Trump’s public request for Russian help in finding Hillary Clinton’s emails. Trump said, “Russia, if you are listening, I hope you’re able to find the 30,000 emails that are missing,” then adding, “I think you will probably be rewarded mightily by our press.”
Trump’s lawsuit claims “The Defendants, blinded by political ambition, orchestrated a malicious conspiracy to disseminate patently false and injurious information about Donald J. Trump and in campaign, all in the hopes of destroying his life, his political career…”
Trump is losing it again. The news about Putin’s war has likely affected him in an adverse way. Trump has shown his love of Putin numerous times. Thankfully, Trump was unsuccessful in his attempt to overthrow the United States. If he were still in power, he would have given Putin Ukraine or he would have started World War Three.
In a recent Frontline special, Nancy Pelosi speaks openly about the attack on the Capitol. In it she tells us how she consulted General Milley because the sitting President of the United States was unhinged, engaged in an insurrection, and able to [launch nuclear missiles].
There are other threats resulting from the incompetence of the previous administration. The terror war is not going well for Putin and pressure from the West is likely causing Putin to consider using smaller tactical nuclear missiles to devastate Ukraine into a nuclear wasteland. It is difficult to even mention this, but we need to be aware of the consequences of unstable antidemocratic authoritarians. Our civilization is increasingly at risk by the actions and inactions of the previous administration. We are also hearing from scientists that climate destruction may now be irreversible.
In keeping with my philosophy, we are safe and we are protected. However, it seems that many Americans do not realize what a danger Trump is to the human race.

3/20/22: January 6th Select Committee new development: A multi-media presentation of the US Capitol riot is planned for May. Online video and other evidence they have thus far kept private will be presented to the world.
Hearings will likely begin in May that will expose the Trump plot to overthrow the United States government in a much more comprehensive way than traditional hearings could. Nothing will remain hidden. All guilty parties will be exposed.
There will be a profound effect that will disenfranchise Trump. Trump will be disempowered and much more likely to be subpoenaed, indicted, arrested and sent to prison. The purpose of the January 6th Committee is to get to the bottom of what happened, and Trump is at the bottom.
However, as welcome as this news is, this action will not solve the underlying problem that gave rise to both Trump’s appeal and Putin’s war. I have books and articles that can solve the underlying problem. The Trump book below can. This is a different kind of Trump book because it explains the underlying problem that is not reported on the news.

The majority of people in the U.S. have seen Trump engaged in illegal actions in public. Although former President Donald Trump is technically presumed innocent until proven guilty, it is well-known that he engaged in a criminal conspiracy to overturn the 2020 presidential election.
There was a criminal plan and organized effort, and he was certainly not acting alone.
The January 6th committee and the Justice Department are working their way up the criminal chain to Trump. This is what is done in Mob trials because it is the most effective approach.
A federal judge is expected to make a decision on whether or not he will allow the January 6th committee access to John Eastman’s emails. This is important because it hinges on the argument that John Eastman does not have the right to plead the fifth because he was engaged in criminal activities with Trump. The judges ruling, therefore, could establish that Trump was engaged in at least two criminal actions.
The way our court system operates is to reference other court’s decisions. Thus, a ruling in this court motion could open the door to the prosecution of Trump in many other civil and criminal cases.
John Eastman is known to have helped in the plot to keep Trump in office after President Joe Biden was elected in what is known to be the most secure U.S. presidential election in history.
Millions are wondering if Democracy itself will survive the onslaught of Trump and his mobsters. If the United States Attorney General Garland does not act on the information available to indict and arrest Trump, we will face additional peril.

3/02/22: The January 6th Committee has filed a motion in court based on extensive evidence that Trump committed “criminal conspiracy to defraud the United States” and corrupt obstruction of an official proceeding in an effort to overturn the 2020 election.
The January 6th Select Committee has told a judge in a written court motion that the former President Trump, John Eastman and others were engaged in crime and are therefore not eligible for a 5th amendment plea.

02/18/22 UPDATE: A federal judge says Trump can be held liable for the January 6th attack and damages that may be awarded through individual civil lawsuits. Trump is not protected by executive privilege during the period of time in which he was inciting the insurrection, according to the judge, because at that time he was not acting within his capacity as the president. Directing a mob to attack the Capitol and then doing nothing about it is not an official presidential duty. Attempting to remain in power after he lost the election is not a presidential duty.
The families of those that were killed in the Capitol attack, as well as those who were injured will undoubtedly seek large settlements. If they succeed and they probably will, Trump will be paying the damages out of his own bank account. This will be a problem because his private businesses are losing hundreds of millions of dollars and banks do not want to make loans to him.
The Trump family is not happy. I still believe that Trump will be subpoenaed, indicted, arrested and sent to prison on the criminal charges he is currently facing.
If Trump is not subpoenaed, indicted, arrested and sent to prison, there is a very real danger that democracy could still fall in the United States of America as in Ukraine and other countries.

01/31/22 UPDATE: Over the weekend at a Trump rally in Texas former President Donald J. Trump openly confessed to seditious conspiracy (18 U.S. Code § 2384 – Seditious conspiracy) and to aiding and comforting a violent insurrection (18 U.S. Code § 2383 – Rebellion or insurrection). Trump offered pardons to the January 6th insurrectionists should he be reelected president. He was not under duress and the confession was in plain sight in public view.
Seditious conspiracy carries 20 years and rebellion, or insurrection carries 10, and those convicted of rebellion or insurrection can never hold public office again.
The grand jury in Georgia will be given this information and U.S. Attorney General Merrick B. Garland will have to act on it. By clear definition, this is domestic terrorism by a former president. Trump is daring the Justice Department to indict him and is threatening that if they do indict him that he is sending his angry mob after them.
Trump admitted to sending Vice President Pence to overturn the election and when that failed to send a mob to overturn the election. In both cases he was organizing an effort to overturn the election.
I expect Trump to be indicted or taken into custody shortly. Trump will be indicted, arrested and sent to prison or we are basically all doomed.
Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis may be the one to take down Trump. She wrote a letter asking the FBI to protect her after Trump made his threats at his rally over the weekend.
No one knows for certain when Trump will be indicted, arrested and sent to prison, it will likely happen simply because this is the greatest democracy in the world. Democracies are notorious for being slow to respond to new forms of threat, but when they do, the response is effective.
The Department of Justice should indict and arrest Trump as a result of the criminal referrals from the Jan, 6th Committee. Any one of Trump’s approximately 20 criminal cases could also result in an indictment or arrest. But Trump would appeal, and an arrest and trip to prison could take from one to three years.
Congress and DOJ has not prepared for preventing an overthrow of the United States Government by a sitting president because this is something entirely new. Such a high level of criminality by a president of the United States is unheard of. Nor could our founders have foreseen the use of television by a president to send false and misleading information to the public as an attempt to take over the country.
Because Congress, various government agencies and the world were not prepared for this kind of thing, dealing with it has been slow. Congress, the Department of Justice and the states, however, will eventually get the job done.
There is a way to stop Trump and save our democracy.
